And a Happy New Year !

Umm...Happy new year ! It's a shame I don't have anything much to post today...Was back from my aunt's house then have to bath in 30 minute and get ready for a family dinner. Now I'm home and its already 10pm ! Reading everyone ELSE's blog instead of updating mine. And there is just SOOOO much to catch up on. Games getting updates and Facebook stuff...I stalk ALOT of people there ! What can I put here ? Maybe I'll put the following:

-this year's summary
-my new year resolution (breaking the record of me breaking my new year's resolution)
-Dunno....Wish everyone ? (+ a countdown ? Current Time=10:43pm)

Let's see, first, I'd like to thank all my friends. Everyone, no special exceptions though (Except Vyon of course ;D) because you guys (and gals) have made this a butt-kicking year altogether ! Some bad things happened to me this year but I shouldn't ruined the end-of-the-holiday spirit with it. Though I DO wish those people would learn to be more MORE humble...(oh no, I'm starting to get mad again XP) I've met alot of new people, I DID get into a new class after ALL...And this time it was much easier to make friends since my standard matched theirs in a more even way....I didn't get 1st 'cuz I was the smartest, I got 1st because I passed all my papers with borderline score ! And if I took Chinese for PMR, I would've failed for sure ! (I'm not trying to show off or anything). In the end, the results were truly unexpected, through a 3rd party examiner, the best student turned out to be Alwin, who actually has problems with Math (only because the scoring system was tough in school) and Barry got 3As (If I'm not mistaken) which is the same as me. I've also met A LOT of Form 5 students and became friends, opening your mouth and talking to strangers will also help develop a friendly relationship (How do you ever think I met Nana ? Don't get the wrong idea though, I stalk on my victim's blog before talking to them, that's how I shocked Melia during Sport's Day with the Pizza Hut Incident that she wrote in her blog). So, all in ALL, I'd like to wish all my FRENZ happy new year ! May 2010 be full of surprises ! FYI, surprises don't always mean a good thing. !

Anywayz, I've noticed the bottom of my previous entry was somehow coloured black instead of green. But I'm lazy to correct it XP The troublesome part was to have to identify the color hex which at that time, I randomly set as default ! Moving on, HOHOHO (malicious way, not in a christmas way), I've signed up for a special Facebook Network Blog ! Come everyone, just press the damn "Follow" button on the right ! Approve me as your leader ! errr...I mean a true author (seriously, I need at least 20 followers to be qualified to be an official author !

Next SECTION PEOPLE ! 2009's Season Recap ! Currently 11.02pm

Season 1: Excel The Exam
You people all know how lazy I am to study for the exams, (PS. I usually cram for my Piano Pieces Exam and usually succeed in doing so 'cuz I'm too lazy during other time, and my parents won't scold me 'cuz piano is suppose to be something useful) But I only came up with the concept of Seasons in the midst of the battle...exam
'cuz I was bored and didn't know how to write anything anyway ! The season didn't really last long and was just for my exam...After that, we FINALLY had our mid-year holiday ! Woohoo..But my project team and I were not about to take MUCH of a rest !

Season 2: The School of BLAZING projects
The title as you can see, explains it ALL completely. The first semester holiday lasted for 2 weeks and so did this Season mostly involving me returning to school EVERY DAY in order to finish our projects. I don't know how my team mates feel but it was pretty exciting to me. During the first week, me, Jia Shan and Mei Ting gathered to discussed about our Sejarah Project. The gathering turned out to be rather unfulfilling because of the difficulty of the project. It was rather hard for us as there were no references (both for writing and presenting) ! Good thing I managed to download a sample project for the project from the Internet. We instantly decided to have A Farmosa as "Bangunan Terkenal" and we did not regret it ONE BIT ! I gave everyone a copy (via MSN) and it turned out OK ! We met to discuss our INDIVIDUAL progress (since Rosnawati doesn't allow the same results) and it turned out OK....again...The sample project was really HANDY combined with the info of the books I found in the KKHS Library !

The second week was about our MASSIVE PSK Project which required ALOT of thinking and writing. Since most info was in English and we ARE living in Malaysia, I thought we had to translate everything to Malay ! But after translating about half (Maybe not that much as everyone was lazy), the teacher said Chinese was not acceptable but English was ! (Everyone stared at me with anger)...But that's not so important, it's Season 3 so I'll explain it later. During the first day, only me, Jia Shan, and Mei Ting showed up ! (WTF ? 3/6 of my team showed up ?) We discussed about our Schedule and some rather MINOR stuff that can be refered from the textbook. Since the team was relatively SMALL that day, we had pastries for lunch (not really filling XP). The next day, our Vice Ketua joined in ! That makes 4 T.T. Still a small amount, I couldn't really remember but we made a special section in our project, it's called "Aktiviti Projek" where we put a picture of our adventures for each day ! Tuesday's special activity was a trip to that Indian Restaurant next to Golden Valley ! Wednesday, Ananda joined up, that makes 5 ! And I was wrong, the total number of students on my team was 7 not 6 (Forgive me, the one member that I forgotten !). That's when we started translating and slacking 'cuz we all know translating something boring SUX. We had to borrow malay dictionaries from Ashley ! Special Activity, was PIZZA !!! Thx mom, luv ya for treating us ! *Muacks* Then there was a massive bug spray event around the IT Building (Oh no, we're trapped XP)

Thursday came quickly, this time it was only ME, Jia Shan, Nic, Vyonne ! A trip to my house for a special day making DISASTROUS japanese food which non-of-them turned out RIGHT...Then we headed back to the school and slacked some more ! Friday was an off-day...

There was ALSO a spin-off page in which we say why any of the members didn't come, the funniest one is by Ananda Wong: Went to the wrong meeting place. And Vyon: Afraid of the Ketua (me) 'cuz I broke his laptop last week. (just minor malfunction though) LOL, then the last day was about IU day in CP which I almost MISSED ! READ MORE ABOUT IT !

Season 3: The Dawn That Never ENDS
This is where ALL the MISH-MASH stuff began. Where the second semester started and there was all kinds of events, some RANDOM too ! Music Festival, PSS Kursus and Decoration Day, Chinese Quiz thing in Kian Kok, and Teacher's DAY...etc...Read more to find out ! The one's I said were the ones with PiCtures !

Season 4: Taking a PACE means Getting A CHANCE
A relatively short Season due to my occasional slacking in the blogging world. It doesn't have alot of INFO and the whole season can be loaded in 1 page ! There is a story about another Japanese-food-making day in my house, and our Sudut Bacaan for our class which won 1st place.

Season 5: Over The Rainbow Of The Future
Another short season based around the events before and during PMR (Though updated AFTER PMR). Nothing much to say as my OLD laptop has RAN out of SPACE so I couldn't take anymore GORGEOUS pictures ! (Seems like my devotion for blogging is starting to leak away !)

Season 6: March to Victory...Relentless March
The theme was though of by ME ! It signifies us, Form 3 students having to MARCH ! Though it wasn't very exciting (due to the lack of pictures) it was still (I slacked alot in this Season too !) something more than the previous 2 seasons !

Season 7: Funny Sunny Day
Name inspired by the 7th Opening Theme of Katekyo Hitman Reborn ! It means I am FINALLY at peace XP (Don't think that I'm dead) But it's much more informative than the previous Seasons and at least I pay more attention to it ! That's for sure ! So check them all out if you're bored XD You'll be doing me a HUGE favor !

Judging by the slowly reducing amount of text, I'd say Season 2 is the most Annoying (but most fun) to read Season of all...

MOVING ON: NEW YEAR RESOLUTION *fireworks* (current time 11.50pm...Looks like I ain't finishing this post by 12 midnight)

My new year RESOLUTION is to:

-study better
-get better grades
-Bug parents to get me more stuff
-Get a ranking in my class (=passing my grades)
-Don't get my parents MAD
-Master more ANIME SONGS on the Piano *graceful music*
-Pass my Grade 5 Piano Exam
-Work on my novel EVEN MORE AND EVEN HARDER
-Take part in MORE school activities (lost alot of good chances this year)
-Make EVEN MORE friends
-Keep in touch with my other friends
-Go to more Education Fairs for the free stuff
-GO TO EVEN MORE OUTINGS !!! AHHHHHHH
-Think about my future more

Pace and Chance, some random things !

OMG OMG OMG (I use this to open up my entry ALOT don't you think ? o.0)

Anyways, as I've said before. It's the day I finally go to a Cyber, thanks again to mom for letting me ('cuz I told her I was going with Huang, and he's a very good boy...Lol) ! Went a bit late...'cuz we had to stop at Nic's house to wait for Crystal ! First me and my brother went over to Huang's house by car then we walked to Nic's house. Had to cross a huge scary longkang ^_^ (First time crossing)...Amateurs XP. Like I was saying, stopped by at Nic's house to wait for Crystal, when she finally arrives, we walk by foot to Lido Cyber...*a few words are burned and thus unreadable*

It was located in the upstairs of the Milimewa supermarket so it was really hard to spot ! But I bet they always go there 'cuz the ground floor one is always FULL ??? Anywayz, rushed to my computer and started playing ! Today is THE day I try to out-level Huang (Lvl 18) in one day, FYI. I had trouble making names, I even tried Vista XP...In the end, I settled with TKAzure. 'cuz I like that name, maybe I'll even make my name Azure Tam ! HAHA ! (but seriously...!)

Had to speed level quickly and beat everyone !!! *maple F5 face* Had to rush around ALOT, it's not usually like me to rush and skip all the long text cause I LOVE A GOOD STORY SOO MUCH (been dying to read the Neo Tokyo Story) But this time, I'm not AT HOME, I only have a few hours to RUSH (or in Maple Language: Chiong !) I did the usual thing but I accidentally caused my brother to fail one of his unrepeatable quests (it's a long story, for those who don't play MS would probably show no interest in it anywayz) so I gave him a little gift (He sacrificed his own quest so I could complete mine, so I felt guilty)...Anywayz, was training, I thought it would be VERY boring and slow like last time, but suddenly got a Bowman came and partied me (his name is called x3XiaoBowBi...or something like that) then gave me like 50k mesos and lots of potions !!! OMG, Bootes ROX ! I can't believe I've been playing Delph all this time XP (Name of servers, by the way) I felt like going to heaven XP He made me travel all around places like Singapore then payed for my travel fees (OMG Isn't he generous) In the end, he had to go train (I don't blame him, after spending so much time on a noob like me XP ) I went to train by myself but only managed to go 3 Lvls (Level 24) I was quite satisfied (had to skip lunch 'cuz they all acting macam sedang puasa like that) but I was about to finish a mass exp quest, suddenly the computer said I ran out of time (5pm, time to go home !) I was like 2 friggin ! clicks away from Leveling UP !!! GAHHHHH (This just shows how addictive computer games are. I think I wanna play again not for the game (GAWD it's getting boring, jumping, shooting in the same routine for hours) but because of my DEAR DEAR friends (the ones from Delph probably also tio hack during the Hacking Season last year XP But I just found out my old friend still has his account intact with him, still not hacked yet ! Wow gratz to you then)



There was so much to do in the game now that I've been gone for so long T.T But enough of that, back to the real world...My real world. I think I'm gonna give everything a little makeover for my blog with a new layout (let's see if what nana says about this is true) Though she did mention that everything would be erased, now THAT is quite risky XP Oh well, no pain no gain (this is not considered pain, this is considered a downfall).

Awefully Written is it's name (I really have to give credit for their Creative Naming) Now as I was saying, it's a short stories blog by youths for youths based in the hearty little town of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. (copied from their Intro if you don't mind) Run by Qay and Surya and it's really interesting. A freelance "job" to write while you're in college, it almost makes college sound pretty easy (I've been reading alot of booklets of different colleges that I got from my Edu Fair that day) Online assignments sound kinda fun (Trust me, it's NOT fun, that's what I thought about writing Karangan in Primary 3 but when I started in Primary 4, I got a D T.T)

I'm searching for a blog layout right now as we speak ! After this I might try uploading some piano pieces XP Wanted to find a Converse Layout but it's all for girls ..Now I'm looking for a music theme, maybe I'll test them out 1 by 1...Anyways, happy living ! And don't forget to have your New Year Resolution ready...(According to one of my comics, they say that it's almost impossible to keep your New Year Resolution going ! (is that suppose to be bad luck ???)

Stayed home all day today, had to practice piano and sharpen up on my Add Maths and Chemistry but I simply didn't have the mood to T.T What's wrong with me ? *facepalm* :P I'll need to finish Chapter 3 of Chem today...But I've forgotten almost everything about it 'cuz I didn't touch it for so long !

Going to Cyber with Huang, Crys and Nic mostly to play Maple. FINALLY, that day I found out my Account kena hack so I didn't have time to make a new one and play abit inside 30 min (until my mom comes and fetch me from CP). Seeing them playing made me DROOllllssss...But I'm finally getting my chance to play this Wednesday and my mom let me. Mainly 'cuz she knows Huang got like awesome results in PMR (saw in the newspaper) and have been acknowledged that we are not any brute from the lower class of society ^.^ NO OFFENCE but you'll never know how low you'll be...So I assume you are all citizens of this high-class society. Will be there for 5 straight hours (I dunno will we be eating...) My brother will be joining in too but I don't mind 'cuz we're just doing in-game activities...Let's see can I beat Huang at Leveling (He's currently Lvl 15, I'm Lvl 0....But let's see who has the advantage, Level or Experience)

OK OK OK, what to blog about ???

Just went to Center Point yesterday and 1 Borneo the day before. So I have alot ! to blog about, and since I don't have any photos or pictures, do you expect a heck load of text ? Mom please get me a camera SOON !!! Anyways...BRB, cleaning my laptop now that I've noticed how oily the keyboard is. XP and this laptop is just 2 months old (when I bought it, it's 1 week old)

Back ! That took long, but it's just wiping a computer screen and the keyboard. But now I can type with comfort, I feel like I'm typing with so much ease now. ^.^ Thank you washing detergent (izzit a detergent ?)

Anyways, learning half-chord version of Sign by FLOW (6th Opening theme for Naruto Shippuden) It's suppose to be easy but getting the beat is the hard part and I've written both left and right hands down but on the same paper on different pages XP Ooops, I thought I could handle it but guess not XP (After afk-ing for another 30 minutes) OK DONE, finished learning it. Now all I have to do I practice non-stop ! (My definition of "FINISH")

Although I had alot of FUN travelling and actual GOING OUT during these few days, I don't really have much to blog about. Anymore...I need inspiration pl0x, my novel is also stuck in a coma. It's not that I have bad imagination and creativity (Hello, 3 Kreatif ! Kreatif ?!), it's just that I have trouble with writing !!! Counseling 101 please !!!

Twas the day I got my PMR Result !

OMG OMG OMG, have ALOT of blog about ! And by alot ! I MEAN ALOT !

First order of business !!! Drum roll pl0x *bum bum bum* Thank you. Had to go to the school to get my PMR results today. But I couldn't decide weather to sleep or not yesterday night so I ended up going to bed at 5.30am (should've stayed up all night just like nana) and then I ended up waking up at 10am (I fell asleep after turning off my alarm clock, phone, and parents) My mom thought I would wake up and ask for a ride from my dad at 8am but I was still asleep at 9am which is when my dad woke up. So, no transportation lah ! XP Had to call mom then she came back and scold me saying I'm irres(sistable)ponsible...Then off to school ^.^ Had a wait a while 'cuz of the LONG line so I told mom I'll walk home 'cuz she has got work to do.

It was soooo irrititating 'yet the suspense were right on top of everyone...3C students all worried will they get 7As and 3A students all worried will they pass...When I enter the hall, I saw Audrey so I ask her where is the 3K booth, she say she dono..It was at the FAR FAR FAR end of the hall, and Cikgu Azmi was the teacher in charge, wonder what happen to Cikgu Z ? Anyways, it was currently Vyonne's turn...with her mom (i think)(better not try anything sneaky XP) She got 1A, which made me even MORE nervous...*faints*

Everyone was like, snatch the front seat to advance to the teachers table...It was a fierce battle. And everyone keep knocking each other...I was lucky...Managed to advance everytime then LJB let me go in front of him 'cuz he has problems (Every student must wear uniform to get the results, he was wearing PJ shirt...WHOOPSSS) Finally it was my turn, had to write my Chinese name on a name list then the teacher ask me to find my Certificate. He found it before me, but thats ok, at least I don't have to know my results for another few more seconds...I was like having my fingers crossed right in front of him, then the conversation gone on like this...

Hahaha, had to gratz him for that. But Cikgu Azmi won't tell us what was happening, everyone presume he failed XP...Anyways, :

Haha, I finally managed to snap some shots of my new Stepmania game, it's really hard to snap it down on this laptop 'cuz you have to press fn+print screen...Most computers only need you to press Print Screen but mind was more trouble some, fn was on the bottom left and Print Screen is on the top right so I can't press both with 1 hand while the other hand continues playing XP

The menu bar, songs have to be downloaded outside the main download and take up quite some space...

OMG, today I woke up at like 1pm !!! Never this bad before...Gonna sleep early today 'cuz tomorrow morning got a LONGGGGGG day of tuition...BM and Add Maths in the same time !!! Wootz...(Boo) Didn't get anything done today...Wanted to ask mom to bring me to Popular to buy a Reference Book to prepare for tomorrow but then everyone was lazy (even me)(mainly me) so called off till this weekend... I was in City Mall last Sunday but by the time we finished dinner, it was already 9.30pm and the store was already closing T.T (Ohhhh !!! 'cuz my bro wanted my mom to stay and wait for him choose his damn PSP game !)

Finally got my Maths PMR workbook finished but now, I have ANOTHER new agenda to add to my to-do-list !!! Gotta finish my Piano Theory Grade 4 workbook so I can move on to Grade 5 faster ! My exam is about next July but I still dunno about my theory exam, if I apply after I finish my practical, It'll be too late ! Anyways, finally finish memorizing all my Majors and Minors for the Grade 5 exam, now it's time for the finger practice...I can answer questions scale-related much faster ! Finished 2 pages of theory today within 20 minutes (WOOOTTT new record ^.^) Now I'm gonna DOOO MORREEE...*drools*

Been playing alot of AQ Worlds lately ! (thank GOD I know HTML, was in a mess using the "compose" program's linking system...Anyways, OH MY MY mamma mia, didn't do a SINGLE thing to my novel today AT ALL (and I have to sleep early too) T.T Haven't tried out my new coding yet too, and PLUS ++ my teacher haven't started reading the book I gave her yet, she said having 4 children is TOUGH...(who ask you to do IT with your husband every night...)(Now, my blog is rated PG 18+ )

Haven't been doing much work lately, and am not blogging alot lately...Probably playing too much Stepmania...you should try it if you're into those dancing DDR games, if you have the mat, you can plug it into your computer and dance, or just act like a normal gamer and use the directional keys on your convenient little keyboard.

Back to the story...It's an awesome game, and you can download the songs other users' made and just dance like an idiot. The ONLY downside is that it takes up ALOT of space...And installing the mat isn't that easy...Am I spelling 'mat' correctly ? I dunno 'cuz I've never used it in a sentence before.

See, I just went 15 min away from blogging JUST to play that dancing game. Isn't it addictive ? And finding songs are kinda annoying 'cuz the main website's search engine isn't working ! I have to look page to page for the song I'm looking for. And most songs created by other players are like GOD-ly even during Easy Mode.

Haizzz...I just failed in creating a HTML form. It took me 2 days of brainstorming and it ALL went to WASTE !!! Feel like stabbing myself...Which is what I'm doing right now...Making the designs were easy but the only problem is "how do I direct the form data into my email"...It wasn't easy and most tutorials only explained how to design it, which I have already completely (50%) mastered...GAWD this is sooo hard...And my teacher haven't came up with the content yet. Tomorrow is my piano class, I'm gonna ask her and FORCE her to write it...Or else all my designs will go to a waste T.T Although I have an assumption of the coding I'm about to do. I'm not completely sure does my notebook understand my desired design...This job is tough ! I better get paid (that teacher is such a cheapskate)...But I guess HTML contents have very limited pattern and designs, so it's up to the CSS (a.k.a the flashy layout) to impress other people.

I'm almost finished correcting my Maths PMR workbook. MY concept of CORRECTING is ticking right and wrong. Not doing CORRECTIONS for EVERY wrong question in the book. Yes, I know, it sounds easy. And it took me almost 3 days to correct 5 years of PMR papers...I AM that LAZY...^.^

Have Add Maths and BM to on Wednesday, wanna ask mom to bring me to Popular to buy a Add Maths reference book. T.T Maybe I should've auctioned for those second-hands that the Form 5 are selling !!! too late...Oh well, playing Dissidia...slacking SOOOO much, at least I've finished learning all my Majors for my scales...Only minors and chromatic and contrary motion and arpageious ()(&*(& dunno how to spell) and other stuff....2.5/3.0 piano pieces done ! GAMBATEH !!! And my novel editing is going quite OK, I'm doing an encyclopedia in case my story isn't clear enough...My writing style is based more on a DIALOGUE...so not much description is placed into it...I'm also editing that part now.

LONG LONG LONG DAY...

Oh my feet, today was SUCHHHH A long day...To start things off, I was late for my 9am piano party...I'm also late for stuff, PSS meeting, tuition, outings and etc T.T My mom woke me up (thank GOD) then the teacher called me, thank goodness Andre came later than me !. Then we each had to perform a song...When it was my turn, I was soooo nervous. Was my back straight ? 'cuz it usually is when I play a song nervously ! >.< Anyways, this year no food for us to eat T.T Oh teacher, how can you be such a cheap skate !!! But she promise there WILL be food next year...THERE BETTER BE !

After that, off the Wisma Merdeka for lunch, then to get new uniforms (mainly for my brother's uniform) and to get some new glasses (also for my brother). I wonder should I change my glasses ?
Anyways, it was 1pm so we went to the Education Fair in Le Meridian ! It was called Education @ Penang, mostly colleges from Penang but they offer twinning with other universities...

There's 1 called Dimensions University in Sg that teaches hospitality which has people's hopes set on to be in the hotel management industry...(CASINO ANYONE ?) But my mom said it's not recommended for me ^.^ I think I'm more interested in Computer Science and IT so we had to fill out a form and they like had a person came and talk to us.

He's like not a student and not married yet. But he looks like a student to me (and my mom). It was another school in Penang but he said this one was much better. But my mom doesn't like these colleges ( she keeps wanting me to study at those UK and USA uni like Stanford and Princeton and whateva) I think she's abit over-board. Anyways, I'm satisfied with any uni even if it's in Malaysia. But my parent's think I just wanna go into a lousy college so I can score at the top of the class (I shouldn't have told them this REALLY REALLY REALLY bad joke). Anyways, INTI's comeputer science in Semenanjung M'sia twinning with another college that sounds like a hair product doesn't look so bad but I have a higher possibility (which I hate) to study in Australia.

After the fair, we were about to leave until the INTI people told us to check out their section (they're 2 different fairs, INTI is on the FARRRR end so not many people notice it. Their was a talk about to start...WOW the whole room was empty ! and the talk was like already 10 minutes late. (Not many people interested in INTI ?) Then the talk started with only me and my mom then more people came...like 8....=.= But it was still informative, it was mainly about hospitality since the Sabah branch concentrate on that. Saw Chau Thin Yi there. I dono did he keep staring at me or the door which was wide open (both on his left). I'm pretty sure he noticed me >.<

It finally ended, so I went together with my mom to Warisan Square to wait for my dad to fetch us. I had a yogurt at Yogur Berry...then I waited in times book store...but it was soooo boring there...NO GOOD BOOK...Not that I had any interest in ANY of them...Of well, my dad finally came, and just enough time for me to get a hot dog from 1901 ^.^

Had to rush back to Wisma Merdeka to pick up my brother's glasses (envy his new glasses...T.T) Then went to shop at Suria Sabah ! My first time there. Most of the shops are closed but I feel like I'm in KL (probably 'cuz of Metrojaya...Anything with 'jaya' in it's name makes it feel special to me). Bought a new pair of Converse shoes but my parents said they make me look like those construction workers...XP Had dinner at Kenny Roger's Roaster...then home and REALLY exhausted....

Well, that's all for today, have to continue on my Maths correction tomorrow, I'll be delaying my Chemistry abit (till I finish correcting my Maths PMR Workbook) then I have piano practice and I have to work on the website ! And my novel isn't looking very good. I have to re-modify the chapters abit to make it look a bit interesting...Since it's SO plain right now...

I never seem to be able to update my blog in the morning. I wonder why. I'm either asleep till noon or am out shopping or going for tuition classes. Oh well, went to visit my grandfather's grave today T.T He was a good teacher, though I dono izzit true XD...

Anyways, I just got my new hair cut and it's NOT at SNIPS since no one would accompany me there. That's just some random news, but tomorrow is my piano school's party and everyone has to perform a song there. I'm playing Yawarakana Jikan (which is a weird name that even I dunno how to pronounce)




It's a soundtrack from Honey and Clover and used quite often. The song IS kinda easy and I just learned it not too long ago (it's THAT easy)...After that I'm going to Le Meridian's education fair to get free stuff and learn about my future. Lolx, not much of a post today though XP Busy as ever (I mean playing as bz as eva) I haven't studied in 2 days straight...OH NO LAZY SYNDROME !!! SAVE MEEEEE

Haiz, it's 1.40am AGAIN ! I mean, I'm just kinda busy nowadays (this week) ! On Monday night, I couldn't sleep so I stayed up the WHOLE night working on my teacher's website, then the NEXT dat (Tuesday) was my brother's BELATED b'day party...My mom said she knew I WOKE up early 'cuz she could hear SOMEONE play the piano at 7am. I haven't told her I spent the whole night up though !

The kidz were wild ! And then there was a power shortage ! (There was one on Monday too, I didn't wanna do anything to beat the heat so I just keep sleeping.) Sooo I just studied (my NEW laptop is password-protected so the kids wouldn't touch it), since no current and I never charged my laptop battery (the salesman said to me, "If you have full battery while charging at the same time, you'll damage it !) My mom quickly told me to take it out. So these two days, while my brother was surfing on it (I HATE HIM, he's got another laptop, and he spent his money on a PSP ! Why not just buy a laptop if you want it so BADLY ? But I have to agree with him, our old laptop was PRETTY run down). Studying Chemistry again, things weren't so HARD until I HIT chapter 3, full of calculations o.0 It's not that bad, but the way I see it. It's like they provide you with 1 SIMPLE equation then show you a hundred ALTERNATIVES that confuse me >.<

KOTA KINABALU: More lights winked out in Sabah after the state’s electricity shortage became even more critical when power tripped unexpectedly at several stations.

This has triggered another round of load shedding, drastically affecting homes and businesses already living with regular brownouts.

Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd said the tripping from independent power plants and its own power stations has forced power generation to drop by about 79MW and was expected to be rectified only by Thursday.

SESB corporate communication manager Chendramata Sinteh said that load shedding had to be implemented as they could not meet the peak demand of 730MW following the drop in the their generation capacity of 756MW.

“With the reduction 79MW, we cannot meet peak demands, she said Tuesday.

She said load shedding would be implemented in Kota Kinabalu, Sandakan, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Keningau, Kunak, Kinabatangan and Penampang.

She said the tripped power stations were being repaired and power would return in stages by Thursday provided no other damages were detected at other power stations.

Sabah’s power shortage remains critical with SESB explaining over the last few years that it was in dire need of a 300MW coal power plant in the east coast of Sabah to replace old diesel generators.

However, the proposal for the coal fired power plant has met with strong resistance from environmental groups and others as they feel that the power utility company should consider other environmentally friendly power generation sources.

The government has agreed to set up the proposed coal fired power plant in Tungku near Lahad Datu in the east coast.

A group “Green Surf” is offering to work with the government to seek other alternative power sources as they say that the proposed site in Dent peninsular was part of the Coral Triangle that is described as one of the world’s important refuges for marine life. "

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah made it into the Guinness World Records with Mount Kinabalu now certified as having the world’s highest via ferrata or “mountain top trail”.

The highest of Mount Kinabalu’s via ferrata – iron road in Italian – is at an altitude of 3,776m, nearly 500m higher than the second highest track in the world at the Dolomites mountain in Italy.

Mountain Torq Sdn Bhd sales and marketing director Quek I-Gek said Guinness World Records officials issued the certification last July after a six-month effort that included survey work carried out by the state Land and Survey Department.

The certificate was presented to Sabah Parks deputy director Dr Jamili Nais here yesterday by Mountain Torq, the company that established the via ferrata trail on Mount Kinabalu.

The certificate was handed over by its executive director Wilfred Tok and witnessed by Sabah Tourism chairman Datuk Tengku Zainal Adlin Tengku Mansor.

The via ferrata on Mount Kinabalu is a route using a series of steel rungs, rails and cables embedded into the mountain’s Panar Laban rockface.

More than 5,000 people have climbed the 1.2km-high via ferrata – which includes a 22m foot bridge suspended 3,600m above sea level – since it was opened to public use on Dec 15, 2007.

Quek said that although there were more than 300 via ferratas worldwide, the route on Mount Kinabalu was the only one in Asia.

Tengku Zainal Adlin said the Guinness certification would further establish Sabah among travellers, especially those keen on adventures and eco-tourism.

“We are proud of the fact that Mount Kinabalu is Malaysia’s first World Heritage Site.

“Now, Malaysians will be proud to identify themselves with a Guinness World Record,” he added.

And I heard there was a tornado or something like that yesterday (since it's already after MIDNIGHT, I'll say it's the day before yesterday). I dunno izzit true 'cuz I lazy to check the newspaper but people claim it's true, lasted for 3 minutes ??? That's not very long izzit ?

Anywayz, I slept early on Tuesday nite, around 9 and then I set my alarm clock to 7 and my phone to 7 too 'cuz the thing starts at 9am. Then I woke up at 5am or something like that (The main point is that the sky is still black) then I feel my arm ache 'cuz of some pretty awkward sleeping positions so I went back to sleep. Then my alarm woke me at 7 but I went back to sleep 'cuz I thought my phone would ring at 8am ('cuz I use 8 alot before this) until I woke up at 9:11am then I hear my maid talking on the phone with my Teacher (Teacher Lim XP). My mom over-slept too 'cuz she thought my dad left early in the morning bringing me with him (no avail XP) By the time I got there, it was about 9:30am but the good news is, add maths was A TINYYYY bit easier this time, UNTIL i got to the back part. That was hard and needs more explaining I guess.

And then when I came back at 11am, NO POWER AGAIN ! So I slept on the couch, Battery was full but couldn't do much without Internet, work or fun...I had a funny dream, it could almost make a movie ! XP I bet it's an original story by me ! ^.^ Anyways, going to an Education Fair this Saturday hosted the Le Meridian (my mom saw the banner that day). Lolz, is this overly ambiguous ? Well, you do have ALOT (more than me) of time left, I only have about 3 weeks left. And then it's Form 4 HELL - o. Chemistry is easy but the having-to-memorize-everything-for-every-known-element is hard. DON'T GET ME STARTED ON ADD MATHS...I could write a whole page of insults about it and still feel energized.

Now that I'm at home, I'm bored and have nothing to do but to play the computer, but am TOO lazy to finish my tuition homework...Ima gonna learn how to do HMTL coding 'cuz I'm sure it'll be a vital tool in my future despite being good at nothing. I saw the Facebook Career page. Looks like a pretty sweet job to me. A few people solved their coding puzzle like PHP puzzles and got hired. And they have hack-a-thons, you code and create a new program for the whole night 'cuz everyone was busy in the morning, then everyone sit in different groups and start coding while drinking alot of RED BULL. >.<>.<>I was an out-of-work animator looking for a job here in Tampa Bay (which is not a hub for animation so I didn't hold out much hope) and against all odds I saw an ad on Craigslist looking for local talent to animate using Flash.

I just happen to specialize in Flash in college, so I figured I would send in my resume and portfolio, not expecting anything back. Less than an hour later I got an e-mail from a guy calling himself Galanoth asking when a good time to call would be.

The next day I was at the mall drawing people in the food court when I got a call from Artix and Galanoth, explaining what AdventureQuest was (it was our only game at the time), and could I come to "the office" to try out. I agreed.

I arrived at "the office" only to find out that it was Artix's house... specifically his dining room table. I was dubious.

I went inside and Artix introduced me to the team (at that time it was Artix, Gal, Zhoom and Safiria). Artix asked me to take a little test. He sat me down in the back room and asked me if I could draw a helm. He left me to my devices and I drew the best helm that I could, my hands shaking. If you look at the helm you can sven see where my hands were shaking when I was drawing the plume.

A minute later I came out: "Oh, did you need something else to get started?", Artix asked. "Nope, i'm done," I replied and showed him the helm.

The next day I began my week long trial employment by drawing 200 swords and Artix and I invented the Sneevi for the new secret project (DragonFable). Seven days later, Artix offered me a job as an artist for AE and I did a little happy dance. I have always been a gamer but never in my wildest dreams had I hoped or imagined that I would actually be MAKING a video game!

However… if you asked me what we were going to release just 4 days ago on Monday… I would have said, “No idea, let me see if there are any good ideas on the forums.” This is the secret, behind-the-scenes story of a real, regular release week at the studio of Artix Entertainment.
My name is Artix Krieger (Or in that real-world thing people keep talking about -- Adam Bohn). On a release week we drop all the ego-fluffing titles and are ready to do whatever it takes to make the best game for our players. Note: For over 6 years and for all 4 of our online games… every week is a release week.

This story starts last weekend when I put up a post saying, “OMG! Next week is Friday the 13th!” Superstitious gamers from all over the world know Friday the 13th is the most unlucky day of the year. We are anxious to celebrate and throw a special event for every special day we can. Needless to say the players responded with an endless sea of great ideas. Some of them were things we have done in the past. Some of them were brilliant but would require re-coding our entire game. (Probably worth it.) Last time, we threw a live event with musical guest star Voltaire. Why not turn this into a tradition?

Voltaire was on tour. He had just finished playing a show in Mexico when I talked to him on the phone. He said he was interested and offered to go to the recording studio on Tuesday when he got back. It is amazing that he will make up all new lyrics based on the game and re-sing the song with it. All we had to do was pick a song. We chose "Day of the Dead" since we had just missed the holiday of the same name on the 1st.

Later on Monday, I met with Cysero, who is currently in charge of AQWorlds. We brain stormed and reviewed the player responses. Then he put his headphones on and starting writing. Less than 2 hours letter he sent out a battle plan to the team. Meanwhile, this is an important week. We just acquired another gaming company and the new team was visiting the studio for the first time. With only 3 weeks left to launch their game we had to do a lot. This happened to include the creation of our new master account system… which would unify all of our games. One login and password to rule them all! If that was not enough, we also were going to create our first television commercial that week. Our controller (I do prefer calling him supreme ultimate accountant lord) asked, “Wow, great. What company did you hire to make the commercial?” There was an awkward pause. He suddenly looked panicked and said, “Oh no….”. I smiled. We do everything ourselves. Galanoth, the head of the original AdventureQuest was in town. We stayed up until 2am in front of my home computer writing a script and doing a mockup video (Also with the help of player suggestions and fan videos – thanks Skyline). To have the commercial air on Network TV we needed to get an ESRB rating. So we had to make that video too and submit it too.

Tuesday descended into chaos. At 9am, four of us met at my house, fired up Pro Tools and proceeded to do professional voice recording for the commercial in my guest bathroom. Meanwhile Miltonius began work on all of the monsters, weapons, pets and items for the release. This included the boss monster and a super unlucky rabbit who was missing all four of his lucky rabbit’s feet. We need enough items so that our free players and our paid members all get something new. J6 also had four days to create a skull themed stage in our main town, an animated band and an entire new jungle zone with destructible terrain. We also needed marketing materials… because we really wanted more than my Mom to show up for the event. This may sound easy so far… but perhaps you forgot about the programming part.
We did not have the song or art done yet. So programming had to be done “blind”. Zhoom is one of our two legendary super coders. He effortlessly pulls of miracles every week so this would be a no brainer for him. Except he had to deadline to finish embedding AQWorlds into the Tagged social networking site by Tuesday night, and then he had to switch gears and work on the newly acquired game. He was converting their entire database from MySQL to MSSQL and all of their code pages from PHP to ASP. Then move on to helping rig their system to support multiple servers. So, he was out. Fortunately, just like in Yugioh, we always keep our strongest card until the last moment. Er… scratch that. Unfortunately, the other legendary super coder, Minimal, was in the middle of a complete game-rewrite (see, we could have used some of those player suggestions after all.) He just launched our first Test Server where the players got to try out PvP and Stats. He was not planning on opening it until Thursday, but it opened up in a 3 hour special test event after being coerced by a flood of LOL-catz posted by the players.

That left Lucien. He is a hybrid artist, animator, programmer. No problem. All he had to do was figure out to get the animated event to run every hour, on the hour for all players. (Which we suddenly decided we needed on Wednesday.) We also needed a system wide message to warn players when it was about to start. Um, and add an unhackable button to automatically equip the Deady bear costumes. Not to mention the code to make the quests, destructible terrain, concert special effects, and other little things work… like being able to make the NPC’s in the concert, across all of the servers, say something in all of the rooms at the exact same time.
The good news is a new episode of the show “V” would be on my DVR we got done with Mauy Thai Kickboxing that night. We have a deal with the martial arts school that allows anyone on our team to train there if they want. The sensei is brutal and merciless… and cracks funny comments while torturing us. I think taking this sort of beating prepares us for the rest of the week.

On Wednesday morning I got a PM from Reens. She asked how everything was going. She already knew the answer before she asked. Which is good, because Wednesdays was so crazy it took me over an hour to respond. Nothing was done. Nothing was testable. And any questions about how any piece of this release will specifically work would be met with, “Um… I am not sure yet, but we will think of something!” The teams for all four games are in the same situation with their releases. Wednesday has a funny feeling to it. Sort of like throwing a ball into the air as far as you can throw it. There is a moment when it hits the highest point that it seems to almost float. You do not know where it is going to land… or whose window it is going to break… but you sure know it is coming down! There is only one day left between us and Friday… and then a player showed up at the studio.

We have had a few visitors at our office. I have been shadowed by young players whose parents flew them in from New York and California. We even had an entire school come visit once. (Yes, it was VERY cramped.) One of my favorite memories was a young girl who was brought by her mother on her birthday. This is not the sort of thing we normally do. But they were visiting from out of town… her mother called every day for a week. When I finally heard about this, we dropped everything we were doing and got her a cake, card and inevitably went over-board hurling our remaining out-of-print swag at her. Which reminds me, we celebrated a double birthday on this day too -- Zazul from player support, and Nightwraith from the new game. As per usual we fired up the amps in the band room and sang a heavy metal happy birthday while serving cake. The cake had game characters printed on it. Wow, did I get off topic.

THURSDAY is crunch day. It is the most vital and critical day of the week. We cannot afford to lose a moment of time. So naturally I had to leave for an all-day meeting.

Meanwhile, back at the studio, Cysero put on the Kamikaze headband that I bought him in Japan. He does this every Thursday. “It gets me through the week. I don’t know what I would do without it”, he says. The stress levels are running high as Thursday night approaches without a working prototype of the event. With less than 24 hours left on the clock things were looking very bad. Thursday night is mostly about faith. Beleen had just finished our email newsletter and turned in 3 articles for game related websites. She made the mistake of asking me to proof-read them. I do not know why I am compelled to rewrite everything I touch (For example: you should see how many times I rewrote this story). We started posting what we had available to promote the event on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace. If you had seen how little was actually working went we left to go get beat up at Martial Arts class… you would have blinked twice, allowed for an awkward pause, then burst out laughing. There was good news though. Voltaire called. We have a song!
During my meetings today I met with our marketing guru and business advisors to work on “big picture” items. Like buying more ads for the games, turning down more investors, coming up with next year’s project list, and drawing little stick figures. It takes a lot of strength to get excited about tomorrow’s completely uncompleted release while listening to high level execs from competing game companies explain why you will be crushed like a grape in the oncoming wave of annihilation. That is why I like the show, “The Office”. Thursday night’s was a pretty good episode too! But my favorite line was from the episode where Michael was negotiating an offer for Dunder Mifflin to buy his newly formed Michael Scott Paper company. “Our company is worth nothing. That’s the difference between you and I. Business isn’t about money to me, David. If tomorrow my company goes under I will just start another paper company. And then another and another and another. I have no shortage of company names.” I love that statement, because it has so much heart. Just like us… we are addicted to the players, games and the lifestyle. We would work out of a cardboard box to keep doing this… well, as long as the box had a high speed internet connection… and suddenly, it was Friday morning.

The first unlucky thing about Friday the 13th – was having to wake up early. I brought Starbucks into the studio for the early birds. We started a “play by play” on the homepage. Updated hourly or faster, it told the players every horrifying train-wreck quality mess-up we made as we struggled to make release live by 6pm. We had a lot to write about. The concert was not functioning, none of the quests worked, the player’s hair would pop through the giant Deady costume’s head. It looked like someone put a wig on its eye. We dubbed it the “Eye-wig feature.” My job was to fix the concert and add “things” that would happen as Voltaire played his song. J6 made me some last minute smoke FX and an explosion. Swarmed by bugs I was not able to add my first effect, which was Voltaire and his skeletal band poofing onto the stage, until 1pm EST. Cysero was having similar luck on his quest. 5 hours remained until launch.

We played musical chairs. Up until today the team had been pretty spread out working wherever they sat down with their laptop. Zhoom, Cysero, Llusien, and Beleen all moved into the War Room with me. Minimal, J6 and Miltonius would have sat with us too, but it is a long drive for them from Philadelphia, Canada and LA. They and roughly 60% of our 46 team members telecommute from all over the US, Canada and Europe.

After plugging my laptop into the 74” TV at the end of the conference table that we use for a monitor, we wished we had invested in some headphones instead. We listened to the same 11 seconds of the song starting a maddening gazillion times. Somehow Zhoom kept his focus through the noise and was able to setup two new servers for the game. We could not choose between the names Kabroz or Truffle for our newest moglin safe safer. These ultra safe canned-chat only servers are always named after our popular in-game mascot creatures called Moglins. So we let the players vote. It was really close. Also, Zhoom rigged prepared our Content Delivery Network (CDN) to offload the strain of tens of thousands of players loading the giant concert/music file… at the exact same time… every hour….

At 3:30pm, Safiria and Nythera finished answering thousands of player emails. They brought their laptops into the war room to help. We heard a cheer in the other room. DragonFable’s release had just gone live. MechQuest was about to go live too. I was biting into a luke-warm piece of non-dairy pizza as Adobe Flash found new creative ways to try and break both my file and my spirit. What we were doing was pretty crazy in the first place. We load a map file. Then we load players into that map. We also have game characters built into that map. THEN… we load a music file along with a script that makes everyone sing along and dance to the song. Needless to say, it all broke.

The room was as busy as a military command bunker in the middle of World War 3. The phone rang with Voltaire’s name on the caller ID at 5pm. I remember clearly because Safiria answered and I could hear her guiding him to the development server right as we crashed it. Someone hit a button and wiped out the game in a wave of errors. From the last few paragraphs you might have noticed – I have no idea what anyone else is doing. There is not a lot of idle time while broadcasting the countdown date to all of the players, updating the homepage, tweeting, and trying to resist the urge to see if I can buy my Prime Downtown Lot in Mafia wars yet. We have been doing this together for a long time though. If there is one thing I know, it is… WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT IS 5:45!? Prepare to roll all files live! Server restart in 5 minutes!

That is exactly how it happens.

See, the concert event is set for every hour on the hour. So if we are not up at 5:50, the players will not have time to get back online before 6:00pm when the first concert begins. There is exactly 1 minute and 15 seconds of testing on the staging server before we “roll” the files live. Worse yet, for obvious reasons, the final version of the file cannot have any of the developer test buttons still on it. So there is not actually anyway to see if that fancy CDN stuff works. Or… to see if ANYTHING would work. Except to go to the concert alongside the players at 6pm… and find out together! Exciting? Definitely. This is my favorite part of every week!

Zhoom says, “Alright. Bringing the servers back up.” At 5:59 Voltaire’s message to greet the players is broadcast to all of the servers. There was moment of silence….

Two hours later I got a call from my girlfriend who drove over to my place, and then accidentally locked herself out of my house while walking my undead slaying battle-Pomeranian, Daimyo. She is so sweet. She knew I would be working late with the team. In fact, she was here during the last Friday the 13th event where we crashed not only the AQWorlds servers but ALL the games on our network on that fateful launch 6 months ago.

Not tonight! The players cheered and messaged us with “Best Friday the 13th ever”! They loved the concert and even more people showed up for the later shows. We have never had a flawless, lagless release before. (Not counting that, um, “Eye wig feature” of course.) The entire team did such an amazing job. Including those mentioned in this article and all of the folks you have not heard of… yet. Voltaire, had not seen the event until it went live either. He was amazed we pulled it off in such little time and congratulated the team for all their hard work. Cysero, at long last took off his Kamikaze headband and he pressed the power button on his laptop. At 5:30am the next morning a few of us were still online. Rocking out with the players at the hourly concert.

What are we going to do next week in AdventureQuest Worlds? No idea, let me see if there are any good ideas on the forums. Did I mention we have been doing this for 6 years ?

(Addicted to the game, I wish I can BUY it but it's expensive. But it's quite effective as a work-out tool, some schools in Canada...i think..use them for their fitness program...Trade in fats with bad eye sight)

(Haven't gotten one in almost 2 months and my hair is getting un-controlable...Would've gone to SNIPS but there was no one to accompany me, and organizing a trip would be FAR too complicated for me)

(After seeing Nana's Sony Ixus, I can't wait to get a camera !!! It'll be a new way to blog ^.^ And the photos taken are much better...)

(She's not allowed to go on ANY outings so I can't see her for like....2 months T.T)

(I'm soooo nervous about this one, 150 marks total, I need to get at 100% to pass. Worse of all, my cousin took the exam this year and failed and Andre barely passed, and he's a pro !)

(Got 1st place this year but I dunno what will happen next year. I duet with Andre, I guess that's why I won, 'cuz Andre is on MY side...)

But now, she's like, "I'd be good if you can get into at least 1K" to my brother since he's in the Best Class in primary 6 but only got 4As and I got 5As last time while I'm in the 2nd best class...)
