My Nights of Fort come to an End...

Today is the last day of my beloved (and highly unappreciated) mid-term holidays... I can't believe time passed so fast. I mean it's always the same thing that happens.

3 Days After Holiday Started
"Wow it's been a few days already. But I didn't waste my time. I actually got some work done and I'll keep this up so I can have fun and still study in moderation !"

3 Days Before School Starts
"Y SO FAST PASS !?"

It's always like that. I tend to keep to my holiday resolution about studying or at least something productive. Then near the end of the first week, I've already almost completely lost all self control and deeply indulged in my all-fun-all-day routine. Makes me sad to see myself without any self control... I need to find my resolve....again.... GAH STPM is just around the corner (ironic that I've only attended 1 week of class) and it's already June ! (Isn't this the beginning of crisis mode for PMR, SPM and STPM takers ?) and here I am relaxing and slacking off ! Ok, I know I'm indirectly bashing the fact that they're making me take STPM 3 times now ! I do agree that it'll be better for us to juggle academically but have they ever stopped to think how it would affect our kokum lives ? I for one AM worried, very worried... That's why I won't let stuff like Kem Perdana slip, since there's no school and what not.

Wanna know how I spent wasted my holiday ?

Holiday Begins: Friday Afternoon
Attended Kem Perdana without going home until Sunday afternoon

Saturday
KEMMMMMMMMM

Sunday Afternoon
"Well I guess I deserve a day off since I've already helped out so much in school..."

Monday
Audrey and Siaw came over to "finish our homework" HAH we knew it wouldn't work
anyways....WASTED !

Candid shot by Aud of me PRETENDING to play my bro's guitar...

Tuesday
Full practice day with ShnWei for the upcoming Music Fes (which we lost D= )

Wednesday
It was a public holiday so I went to CityMall to do EVEN MOAR back-to-school shopping !

Look at what I found ? (NOOOOO PELANGGGIIIIIIII)

Thursday
Duet practice in the morning then did like 6 physics questions in the afternoon

6 questions in 3 hours is still good progress, right ?

Friday
More duet practice ! and Preperations for Music Fes !

Saturday
Went to Music Fes in the day and did peta minda for Kemahiran Belajar  at night but wasted 3 hours doing a peta esei =.= REDONE !

"The character of the minuet could not be achieved" BECAUSE WE'RE TOO AWESOME !

Sunday
Slack..... Oh and went for final practice before the driver's test the next day.

Monday
Went for test early in the morning. Then followed mom to office to print PA stuff in the afternoon

LIKE A BOSS !

Tuesday
Went to piano... that's all 0.0

And yet I'm too lazy to do my Theory D=

Wednesday
Finally gathered enough courage, perseverance and sense of responsibility to finish my peta minda for Kemahiran Mencari Maklumat and Menyoal.

I got carried away with my peta mindas one by one...

Thursday
Don't know how to do Keratan Akhbar so went to Audrey's house to steal her's to ask nicely and politely for assistance. Managed to get SOME work done =D and Thanks to Audrey for helping me DO some of them !

THE PRESSUE IS ON !

Friday
Went out to Upperstar with Teacher Eli, invited Audrey and Kent. Thank you for making yourselves available on such short notice =3  I was suppose to belanja Audrey but then Eli shocked us by treating all of us. Then, we went to ZenQ (OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG ) for desert where Yang Yang joined us ! Funny scene time (taken from Aud's blog) :

Kent: I'll have this.
me: I'll have this one then.
T: I WANT ICE CREAM.
Ellie: -orders for her mixed fruit shaved ice-
girl: oh you get to have one free drink, please choose from here.
me: -give then opportunity to choose- this one then.
Ellie: -sneakily and hastily hands the cashier money-
T: NOOOOOOOOO I SAID I WAS PAYING-grabs cashier's hand-
Ellie: oh no no no let me pay.-grabs cashier's and T's hand-
me: -standing between them- ...
T: AUDREY TAKE THE MONEY.
Ellie: no I said to let me pay.
cashier: -awkward smile-
other staff and customers:-looks at and smiles/grin/point/laugh-
me: ... *facepalm*
This happened when we were choosing the desserts on the menu at the counter if you don't know. Yes, I wasn't going to let her pay again for our food especially since it was ME who wanted to go ZenQ ! Yay hooray for ZenQ (2nd time there and counting =D) Guilty for making a senior citizen (sound better ?) pay... And then we were pwned when the actual food came...

This is my Matcha (green tea) Shaved Ice (ice cream) with Red Bean. Sadly they ran out of Red Bean so they wanted to put Green BEan but I hate any form of beans in this so I said nevermind. And it's pure green tea goodness <3

Teacher Eli's gigantic Mixed Fruit Shaved Ice. Shared with Yang Yang !

Epic fail in manipulating the power of distance....

Audrey's shaved ice. Red bean replace with Greenies....

Kent-chan's shaved ice with weird jelly thing covering the top 0.0

Don't ask how we finished ALL of that because we didn't ! We even wasted a free drink ! How/why did we get a free drink ?

There it is ! Buy 3 of anything on the menu and you get 1 free drink of your choice. We ordered 4 so we could get 1 free drink. We already have something for each of us so we don't know where to give this baby to.

I don't know what it is but thank goodness it's black jelly inside. No one would claim this drink 'cuz we were all friggin' full so I just told Aud to pour it into the already gross enough (due to melted shaved ice and weird coloring) bowl with our leftovers WHILE the employees were not looking. Ok so that wasn't the nicest thing to do. It actually made us look like some crazy naughty kids and WE'RE WASTING VALUABLE FOOD that bla bla bla kids in africa bla bla starve to death.... So I told Aud to stop pouring (even thought it was my idea and I claim full responsibility for this act of spoiled-ness) and I DRANK and DRANK and DRANK and forced it down my throat....Yes that's why I was glad it was Black Jelly so it would flow down my throat naturally without much force. Until I noticed it was TOO BIG to go down (LOL). Cue the spit-it-out scene...

Teacher Ely. Still looks the same after 1 year.

Kent-chan and his leftover....

Yang Yang ! with his extremely cute Domo collar shirt (to match my Domo-Nyan Tee !)

Flip open the collar and you get MOAR cuteness <3

Dear Aud, be a sweetie and NOT kill me for taking a candid photo of you ! XD

Oh yeah. Our neighbor table was Mr Ling and Ms Chao (wait that was their names right ?)

I used Saturday to slack off even more and finish my homework. ALL FOURTEEN KERATAN AKHBARS FINISHED IN 3 DAYS (with minimum effort ?) and today I slacked even more and did this blog post at the last minute.... I hate procrastination...

 The wonders of PROCRASTINATION !

Tomorrow, my Form 6 life begins AGAIN ! Starting with First Period Perhimpunan, and me standing for almost 1 whole hour after sitting on that stone hard chair for 2 years. I wonder how it'll be ? Hot FOR SURE ! Hoping to make more friends in my class (even though I doubt it'll happen FAST)... Here's some extra random photos for thought !

The awkward moment when your aunt suddenly comes to your house and starts using your kitchen to make snacks...without saying anything...

Remember the zero error ?

I MISS NIGEL ! (the paper belonged to him ok ? I didn't write it. I'm NOT OBSESSED !)

I sugar-rushed myself with a bar of kit-kat to help with blogging and hopefully falling asleep later on !

I Like a lot of Stuff...

UPDATE: Some font error made my post look "big" OMG NOOOO #Ilikethemsmall ! But oh well. I tried everything and couldn't get the size back to normal. Bear with it, 'cuz I'll have to !

Yes, I do like a lot of stuff....TOO BAD I hate even more stuff than the ones that I like. Now if you pay close attention, you'll find a sidebar on the right side of this post. YES, this blog has MORE to offer other than my daily ranting. You can find lotsa stuff on the sidebar, it's like REVOLUTIONARY ! I mean. A blog....that has MORE than blogposts !? OMGWTFBBQ *fascinates about how modern this world is*

Getting to the point. If you pay REAL close attention at the sidebar, you'll find a little box called "Stuff I Like" and believe me. It's where I put the stuff I like. And that means Nuffnang ! No, I'm not trying to ask you guys to click it just for the sake of giving me a little income... But DO CLICK IT if you can, to give me a little pocket money =3 I've currently earned RM4.77... Another RM45 until I can make a withdrawal =P Well. UNDER the anooying Nuffnang ads you'll find a picture of PERSONA 4 ! Yes, naturally, that means I LIKE Persona ! But is that ALL I like ? The answer is simple. NO. I have lotsa other stuff that I like.....A LOT....but the problem is I'm not really free enough now to update that part of the blog. So yeah, it's kinda dead right now. But not for LONG ;-)

My now-dead side bar =\

Back to the topic ! Saturday didn't turn out so well. We didn't manage to win. and this year's festival wasn't as "merry" (?) as last year's. I don't know why, I just don't have the feeling. Even my competition was in the smallest ballroom (among 10 rooms) and EVERYONE was crowding in the whole room. I had to stand at the back before my competition started. To make things worse, you put the duet segments in the smallest room in the hotel. GREEAT ! double the anticipated parents and kids.... But I manage to keep my cool to whole time =D Even though I was standing at the back of the room RIGHT under one of those wall lamps radiating extreme heat directly at me )=

The judge for my duet contest was a fine lady called Oh Yann Shie ( i think). Here's an article about her by The Star.  And something weird about her is that she didn't give any commentary to the winning pianists. Usually the judges would be like "And for the prize winner. We have bla bla bla. Very well played, I really enjoyed your bla bla bla" You can kinda get cracks and pieces of clues on what that judge is listening to but not her. She even cancelled out the runner up prize for the Elementary Ensemble (the duet contest before mine) and my Ensemble Junior category. I don't know what's going on inside that woman's head. Why no 2nd prize ? The only possible explanation is that she set a fixed mark ranged for every prize like 90-100 gets first prize and i guess no one fell under the 2nd prize range and the 3rd place winners couldn't get moved up to 2nd place. I know I suck at explaining.... =\

You would've guessed it by now, so yeah, we didn't win anything. We both made some mistakes along the way and ultimately, we screwed up. Being on stage this time was more nervous and scary than last year. Maybe it's cuz the room was so small that the crowd and the judge table felt nearer to us (which it really was). For me, it makes me less nervous when there's a partner playing next to me. It helps relieve the tension and puts you more at peace since someone is there doing the exact same thing is you. Relying on each other to play better. Of course, when the music suddenly stops, all the worries of the world suddenly comes back and my heart starts beating faster and faster. I guess I understand now. It's the music that soothes my soul =D When one of us stops playing, then it feels like you're playing a solo again. You feel that you're alone on stage again with no one else. And that's scary =P Music is a manifestation, not just a sound. Oh how much I love music =D

Our score sheet, duet piece and Certificate of Appreciation ! JUST APPRECIATION....

Here's a closer look at our score sheet.

Had to go for last-minute driving practice on Sunday because my JPJ (REAL) driving test was on the FRIGGIN' NEXT DAY ! My tutor called me on Friday and it really shocked me. The timing was so sudden but it was also good too I guess since it's school holiday season now. I wouldn't wanna skip 1 day of school to get my driver's license. Both are equally important =P But then I wouldn't wanna face LLL's wrath ! I got familiar with the obstacle course again as well as the routes (A and B) . So I had to do the Mendaki Bukit test followed by Parallel Parking then 3 Penjuru. I guess I could do the Naik Bukit fairly well, my wheel always end up inside the yellow line. But when I come down, all chaos rains upon me. It's just so hard, keeping the accelerator pushed, slowly releasing the clutch and letting go of the handbrakes ! The brakes always end up staying on a little too long than it should and the car wheels always end up producing the friction noise since the accelerator is making the car move but the brakes are preventing the car from moving forward. The sound is sooo annoying and it keeps reminding me of my continuous failure and of course, when there's a sharp screeching, it's bound to capture some bystanders' attention. And i hate that =\ Next is the "easiest" obstacle to finish. PARALLEL PARKING =D NOT TO ME.....The formula for aceing this was simple. Too bad I still screwed up sometimes even by following said formula so I was also doing not-so-well on this part. Especially sometimes, my side mirror crossed the line and it still counted as fail. And lastly, 3 Penjuru, the ultimate test. I honestly have 0% confidence in this one since my tutor was HOLDING my steering when we did this. I never really got to try out the one all on my own and when I did. Something bad would always happen. And it'd never turn out as nice as it was when my tutor was with me. So overall, I had 0% confidence with the test =(

Thank goodness, my tutor brought me for final practice on Sunday and told me to wake up VERY early on Monday as he would pick me up at 6.30AM and bring me to the exam venue so that I can practice a little more before the real test started. Oh ya, I almost forgot to mention ! Kent was taking the test with me even though he started later than me. And he's an AWESUM driver. He did everything perfectly. So he got to start the practice first and then it was my bloody turn. AND I SCREWED EVERYTHING UP T.T My tyre friction was soooo rough that you can smell the melted rubber from the driver's seat. D= And then I got into the parking space in a crooked position and lastly my 3 penjuru WAS A MESS...I almost hit the sides X( I'm dead. I was so damn nervous that I was REALLY shivering (with additional teeth grinding) on the way to ADC. Maybe the max-powered AirCon contributed =P Shivered as I waited for my turn. I was number 27 and Kent was 28. OH WHY DO I HAVE TO GO FIRST T.T I also saw Benjamin who was number 15 and Vivian who's in the 2nd session. I'm surprised quite a number of them before me didn't show up. That only made me more nervous cuz IT'S GONNA BE MY TURN EVEN FASTERR !!!! I was really a clueless puppy when they called my name. I don't even know what to do. I was even afraid of turning on the engine XD Thankfully, the car that I used was pretty good. The steering was looser than my tutor's and there wasn't some weird thing blocking the clutch ! I was still nervous about going down hill cuz of the frictional sound I always make and the candidates waiting did NOT respond well to the sound when someone before me made it D= But thankfully. SOMEHOW I didn't make it =D Maybe I suddenly got better, OR THAT CAR IS AWESOME ! Then I drove to the parallel parking spot and waited for my turn. I nervously started the test and it turned out pretty well ^.^ Nothing bad happened and my car was parked PRETTY WELl !! Better than I expected. Then, move on to 3 Penjuru. Oh yeah, before I forget. Ben passed by me while I was waiting for my P.Parking test and he told me he failed his 3 Penjuru. Yeaaaa not the best thing to say to me before going for my next test. Obviously, this was going to be VERY challenging ! But somehow I managed to pull it off. WOHOOO of course, that's what I thought and NOT what the examiners sitting on the tall observation tower thought. So I nervously (and by nervously, I mean CRAZY HIGH SPEED) drove back to the waiting point and got off the car. OMG I almost forgot to off the engine XD Not because I thought I did really well but because the stress and tension was finally gone ! Even if I fail, I wouldn't be able to do anything more at that point except accept the harsh reality !

Kent during practice. Oh so my confidence ! The guy in stripes outside is my tutor ! Btw, pay close attention to the steering. It's SPIKED and it's killing my hands when I drive his car XD

I walked to the observation tower and collected my results. I was kinda afraid of reading it, but I read it eventually. After I got DOWN from the tower. Was too afraid of freaking out in front of the examiners... To my utmost surprise, I passed =D All of them ! WOHOOO now I had to go wait for my "practical" driving test where I have to drive on a REAL road right outside ADC. Both routes end with a roundabout where we have to make a U-turn and come back to the exact same spot. I hate B route 'cuz halfway is still under construction and if a jam occurs there a.k.a I have to stop my car. I'll be too nervous to try to make it move again (takut mati enjin =\ ). Thank God the examiner was mean but he gave me Route A which was VERY much easier. Route A focus on Turns while Route B focus on going uphill and downhill. I turned smoothly....LIKE A BOSS. But I was afraid of crossing the lane line but I couldn't help myself and the examiner was freaking sms-ing during the drive so I thought he wouldn't be so strict about it. I knew I could ace this. I got 17/20 on my QTI trials (passing mark is 16). Then when I got to the roundabout I was about to go make the turn since it was empty but then a car suddenly came from the left side. I thought I had to give priority to it so I quickly stopped my vehicle but my very silent examiner started yelling (in BM of course)" WTH are you doing oh. Stop for what ? GO LAH !" I almost got a heart attack of my life + the fact that I was in 2nd gear and my car is almost at a complete stop. I was sooo  afraid of my engine dying but I just stepped anyways. Thank God it was still good. But then my next challengeS appeared. JAM WTF that never happened to me on that road before so I was pretty shocked. But it wasn't anything major so I just shifted down to 2nd gear and took it easy. I was too afraid of going to 3rd gear but I didn't know what to do cuz the car was giving off some really weird sound. I dunno whether it was the engine reaching max output or not but I just kept on driving SLOWLY. I was praying so hard that it wouldn't come to a stop or else I would've had to go back to first gear and risk my engine dying AGAIN. Eventually I made it back. The general route is that you have to take the car 1 round around the obstacle course (JUST AROUND, you don't have to do them ANYMORE) then drive to either Route A or B then come back, do ANOTHER round then park your car back to it's original parking space. I was gonna do another round once I came back from Route A. I even had my signal up already my then suddenly the examiner told me to just go back there. I was like SOOOO confused about what he said. Then I rushed to turn the steering around like a madman and it was in front of all the waiting candidates....Yerrr I hope them didn't see anything weird. My signal was on right but then my car turn left =.= Then after we settled down, he gave me my grading. I got 16/20. It was like borderline pass. I was like WTF ! Oh well, I guess it's already pretty good since some people did fail today.

Oh yeah. I also saw a guy in my class taking the exam too. Liew Yun Kin ! But I didn't know how to "approach" him so I just pretended I didn't see him (pretending to not know him is just plain rude =P) He was number 33 so he could see my do my epic fail test.  When I was waiting for my practical driving test punya car to arrive, I was waiting on the kaki lima when he came over. He just finished his test and came back here to wait. He was walking next to me when he suddenly stopped. I looked up to stare at him and he looked like he was going to sit down, y'know like next to me and stuff (well, I'm not perasan bahh it really looked like it). Then I quickly pointed towards the counter. I didn't open my mouth =\ But I'm sure he got my message. He said "Give the borang there ?" and then I just nodded. Then he left and my car got here. Finished my test, waited for Kent to finish his test so I went to talk to Ben in the kantin. So yeah, never once did I open my mouth at him. I suck at making new friends.... Kill me D=

Ohohoho after that I went to mom's office to print some documents my PA teacher told me to find online. Either I was daydreaming during her lectures or she was very unspecific with the topic which made me unsure of what I was supposed to look for in the first place. So I just took a BUNCH of documents and printed them. I mean it's free anyways XD Although it made me like I'm hen hao yi shi in front of the other office staff.... But I was using used paper lah. those like conteng or print 1 side then don't want already ones. So I'm also doing as much as I can to save the environment aren't I ? Because one side was already filled with garbage, I had to do trial and error on the paper position, which side put face up which put face down. Not to mention, somehow my mom's printer is set to print double sided so I had to fine the correct printing option and turn it off. Wasted a lot of paper with the trial and error part, and wasted EVEN MORE paper for the actual printing...

The amount of paper I wasted solely on printing my PA documents and music sheets.

Some weird tea mug thing I found in mom's office. As you can see from the holes, it's made specially for brewing tea (although it's kinda low quality =\). I can't believe she didn't share this with me, she knows how much I love tea D=

Fast forward to Tuesday, nothing much happened. Only piano practice in the afternoon. As a matter of fact, I was really pumped up and motivated by the performances I saw at Music Fes so I went home and I found some sheets that I really LIKE and wanna learn ! This time I promised myself, I'd learn them according to the sheets itself, and not start playing chords again. That's the bad thing about me, if I find that the sheets are too hard. I wouldn't even bother learning it, I'd just analyze the sheet and take out the chords and play a more simple tune just for the sake of hearing it and not harnessing the true beauty of the "complete" piece. The sheets are full of chords but they're improvised really well and it makes it harder too so all I did was "simplify" the chords so that I'd have no trouble playing it. That was the easy way out in my case. But it's bad for me, doing this is almost no challenge for me. I could render that Grade 4 song into a Grade 2 one. By playing using chords for so long, I think I might've lost my skill (?) to play harder songs. Since all I do is bombard myself with those simple songs. But no MORE of that, I'm determined to play the following pieces FOLLOWING it's music sheet 100% (maybe some changes to the tempo =P). The sheets I got were (also in order of which I'm going to learn first) :

  • Lightning's Theme - Unguarded Future (Final Fantasy XIII-2 OST)
  • Noel's Theme - Last Journey (Final Fantasy XIII-2 OST)
  • Serah's Theme - Memory (Final Fantasy XIII-2 OST)
  • Memories of School (Persona 3 OST)
  • Zero (Bump of Chicken)
  • Corner of Memories (Persona 4 OST)
  • Listen to the Stereo (Going Underground)
*Maybe I'll learn Vanilla Twilight - Owl City too !

Sadly, nothing has been able to motivate me about doing my Theory.....

You might be unfamiliar with the songs. Well most of the are slow songs and they sound really nice. The difficulties are also moderate. The first 3 should be around Grade 2 - 3. The next 3 should be around Grade 3 -4. And I have yet to gaze at the last one because it's TEN pages long. Yeah, I guess I should've looked at the number of pages closely before printing it =\ Oh well, I'll still have to learn all these the CORRECT WAY. One more thing to add to my list of goals =D Today is Wednesday, AND I HAVEN'T STARTED MY PENGAJIAN AM HOMEWORK YETTTTTTT !!!!! OMG 14 keratan akhbars are like impossible for me T.T Looks like I'm going to have to get busy ! Seeya next time !

Doing a little revision for Physics

Doing notes in one of my new notebooks ! Is my handwriting really that small ?

My peta minda on Kemahiran Belajar (it's NOT EVEN DONE !) Yeah, I kinda got carried away D= EPIC FAIL !

Redone ! Much better ? I think it is ! Let's just hope the teacher accepts this one or I'll have to shove the failed one in her face.

Calm b4 The Storm

OKOKOK No panic. Tomorrow is the big day ! The day I wasted RM50 for. The day I wasted countless afternoons for ! The day I come home with a shiny (tiny) trophy saying first place. Gahhhh. I'm kinda nervous D= That's right. Tomorrow is Music Fes !

It's a contest (musically-based, of course) organized by KK Music Society every year. It last from morning to evening. Some of the instruments you can compete in are Piano, Violin, Vocals, Choir (Not sure do they still have that?), Combo Bands etc. I've been competing since Primary 3 (though my memory tells me it's Primary 2) until now. I take part almost every year in hopes of bagging a prize ^.^ Sadly, it never turns out the way I want it to and end up wasting around RM100 competing. The only time I got a prize is during Primary 3 (my first time competing, I got 2nd place.), Form 2 (I did my Canon in D solo and got 3rd place) and Form 3 where I did a Military March duet with Andre and BAGGED FIRST PLACE. Wakkakakakaka. That was the best moment in my life since me and Andre were like "Ok nvm. We're gonna lose" after our names weren't announced for 3rd or 2nd place (Yes, they announce anti-chronologically). But then we got high when they announced our names for first place. I dropped my bag as we clumsily walked to the stage. It was truly overwhelming (just 'cuz I used this word doesn't mean I'm gonna cry)

I didn't compete in Form 4 for 2 good reasons. It was organized at Nexus Karambunai that year so it was VERY far away (bad choice, event planners =P) and I was taking my Grade 5 practical exam that year. I know it's VERY possible to juggle both of them. But honestly, I'm lazy (very lazy when it comes to piano). So I placed all of my focus into my exam and ditched the contest. Skip the details, ShnWei sounded interested when I raised the offer to do a duet with her for Music Fes. So I promised her we'd do it during Form 5. Well, she didn't know what duet to do so I suggested Military March, the one I did with Andre. As always I did Secondo while I let her take Primo. In case many of you don't get what Primo or Secondo or duet-ing is, here's a short wiki article (I promise it's short =P) about Piano Duets:

A piano duet is a piece of music written for two people to play at one piano. It is often called Piano 4 hands.
To play piano duets the two players sit with one person on the right (playing the high notes) and the other person on the left (playing the low notes). The person on the right is called “Primo” (“First”) and the person on the left is called “Secondo” (“Second”).
Piano duet music is usually printed with the Secondo part on the left-hand page and the Primo part on the right-hand page. Occasionally it is printed with the two parts underneath one another.
Playing piano duets is great fun and an excellent way to become a better musician. Like all group music making, each player has to learn to listen and adapt to what is going on in the other part. Sometimes one player will have to take away his or her hand quickly so that the other player can play the same note immediately afterwards. Sometimes the players have to cross their hands (secondo’s right hand crosses with primo’s left hand).
A lot of the time the primo’s part may have both hands written in the treble clef and the secondo’s part may have both hands written in the bass clef. This can sometimes be confusing at first.
The pedalling is usually done by the secondo player. This is because pedalling is very much about keeping chords going (“sustaining”), and it is the secondo who usually has the chords which give the harmony because these are in the lower part.
So in short, Primo is like the melody part and Secondo is like background music. If I were to put this into band terms, the Primo is like the guitar and keyboard (providing melody and vocal pitches) while Secondo acts like the drums and bass (beats and background sound). I like to play backing support because it compliments the main melody and people hardly notice it. Ohoho if I were playing the melody, a single mistake could sound very obvious to the listeners so it's kinda scary. Plus, Primo players must be swift (unless we're playing a slow song) while Secondo players have to have good finger control and good timing. In this case, I'm bad at both =P

Back to the story,  I already did Secondo with Andre last year so I thought it'd be easier to reprise my role and gave ShnWei the primo part. It was her first time competing so she was kinda nervous (Well who wouldn't be). In the end, we didn't manage to win but I guess it was fun. She was definitely eager to compete again next year. Which is tomorrow 0.0 She sms-ed me while I was still in PLKN asking about the duet. Well, I'd like more time to consider and review the song that we'll be performing but, of course, I was stranded in the middle of a forest with limited contact with the outside world so I just gave her a OK. This time she was the one the picked the song, she even has a book full of duets (somebody looks committed...). The one that we'll be playing is called Minuet and Trio (I think) which is around Grade 5 (i THINK). I was GIVEN Secondo again (much to my ummm....pleasure ??) I thought we'd be in the lead (registered around Feb, started practicing around end of March) ohhhh but how wrong I was. We're still barely presentable. AND THE FRIGGIN' CONTEST IS TOMORROW !! Ahhhh Someone shoot me. I am NOT ready. Still making mistakes and dazing off in the middle of practice. I need to concentrate tomorrow. I hope nothing bad happens to me...Last year, I came early to "study" my judge (it paid off in Form 2) but I found out I left my PHONE at home =.= So I had almost no way to contact ShnWei.

A good question: Why don't I compete in a solo ? It's very possible to, I did it last year. They'll even work extra hard (and miss the schedule deadline this year) to make sure your performances don't clash with each other. But of course, I'll get stage fright XD and my performance would go downhill from there onwards. I think I'd do better if the song was a loud one filled with energy and stuff but my teacher said that fitted Andre more. She said I should do a slow song. Eeeeeeeeee.....WRONG. I was perfectly fine at home but when it comes to playing on stage. My notes, speed and energy go HAYWIRE. So yeah. That's why I'm more insistent when it comes to duets. Having someone sitting next to you really takes the scariness away. You should try it sometimes, especially if you've never tried duets before. A tio is even MORE fun. I tried one before when I was little with Andre and Jason. It was so extremely easy that I accidentally started daydreaming and the performance was still top notch ! Well it's almost the big day (As in, midnight) so I should head to bed before I sleep in tomorrow D= which I tend to to A LOT ! Wish me luck tomorrow ! Although I'm sure by the time you read this, our performance would've already been over. But oh well, it's good to think that everyone is cheering us on, isn't it ?

For those who missed our performance last year (like everyone in this world), here's a video taken by ShnWei's mom.

We made a few mistakes but I guess it's fine. And now here's our final practice video taken this morning for those who won't be able to make it tomorrow (once again, THIS WHOLE WORLD). It's Minuet and Trio (what a weird name). Hopefully, we'll be better than this tomorrow and no mistakes will occur.

I LIVE AGAIN.........again

INCOMING WALL OF TEXT.. BEWARE !

I'm back guys ;-) From being urusetia at my school's Kem Perdana (full name too lazy to remember) last weekend. It was fun AND funny ! Had a lot of fun even though some bad things did happen and we were all tired DEAD. Sadly, no photos were taken since no electrical devices were allowed even for us urusetias D= Let's REWIND a bit shall we ?

Friday
Went to school with ALL my luggage. 1 backpack, 1 hand carry and 1 bucket filled with a blanket and pillow. Yes I'm a laughing stock walking around like that. Thank goodness no one laughed or even giggled, I saw other kids walking around with those stuff too so I felt comforted but then I freaked out about how everyone's stuff is WAYYYY less than mine. Went to class and dropped everything to rush to dewan to help with Chair Arrangements. OMG It was soooo tiring, I was practically a chunk of melting ice cube. Then when we FINALLY got to enjoy the show, I had to be called ALL the way to the kantin to arrange MORE chairs for the teacher's luncheon. UGHHHH well I don't really mind. Until they told us WE had to take chairs from our OWN classrooms and CARRY them ALL the WAY DOWN. Many thanks to Kantin B for belanja-ing us free drinks ^.^

We went back after all that drama and finally got to enjoy the show in peace. It was ok lah, but the whole school were talking ALL THE TIME so I can't really hear what the MC is saying at all. But I think they did an OK job lah, 'cuz their faces like very relaxed. The show ended at around 11 so I went to find Aud and Siaw (other urusetias) at the kantin. Quickly changed into my PJ (still used to calling it PT from camp) and gathered at our newly ROOFED basketball court. Teachers started going CRAZY asking questions that no one knew the answer to like "where is the registration teacher ?" Yea, it was a mess and we didn't know what to do since our Teacher in Charge weren't here. The teacherS were ALL so impatient even though all they're doing is shouting and asking useless questions and NOT helping sort things out. You know teacher, if you keep whining about delays, you'll be delayed as well =P

I've been assigned as AJK Makanan with Aud, Ah Tai, Jeck and others (Siaw got AJK Pendaftaran D= ) Obviously, our job is to take care of catering and preparing hot water (This sounds ridiculous. But it almost killed us). So our first assignment was to boil water in a HUGEEEEEE tub (took a few buckets to fill) and cook it under a tiny fire. CHALLANGE ACCEPTED ! Problem Statement : TOO SLOW B1**HES ! So our plan was hot water is used to make delicious MILO but it was too slow and some students need normal water soon (for Tea Break) so half (we're all called AJK Serbaguna now 'cuz of the earlier mess. The other half were setting up tents) of the AJKs had to take turns taking a huge tank to the IT building to get fresh DIAMOND water from the teacher's water tank (Oh teacher Claire, thank you for letting us take your hard-earned water *sarcasm*) By break time, the water was STILL boiling so no drinks =( and then NOT ENOUGH BREAD (WTF) poor students owh ! Well we got more later on but you still get the idea of how devastating it feels to wait in a long line only for the food to run out just before your turn. Kinda spoils your mood completely doesn't it ?

Dinner was a lot better since we had drinks and food made by the kantin ! All we had to do was serve them to the students. And by serve, I mean restrict them from taking too much XD Poor students (and urusetia) could only have 1 piece of TINY TINY TINY piece of meat. Same goes for urusetia but I guess we're a little luckier since we only eat after all the students are fed. So if there's extra, you can take more (of course, what if they're none left.....) And there were COLD DRINKS (half cup for students XD) 2nd round was unrestricted though (since I had to eat too XD) Skip to 11pm. We were waiting in the kantin for the students to come back for supper (they were at a ceramah in the dewan) and we all got high by chatting for almost a whole hour doing nothing (and it was raining so it was nice and cold) I'd rather avoid the talking that we were talking about but it was fun although I think it was a little bit harsh but that's what got us high (Pwahahaha). Oh yeah in case you didn't know. WE refer to:

  • Me =D
  • Aud
  • Siaw
  • Ellen
  • Ai San
  • Belinda
  • Jeck
Yes ! Belinda and Jeck are new students =D And we're friends already thanks to this camp. It served it's purpose by MAKING me talk to someone new and step out of my comfort zone. Sadly, they're both girls. I still need more guy friends since my last count was like what ? 1 ? Yep, definat need moar of thoze !

Saturday
We had to wake up at friggin 4.00 (well, the schedule said 4.30) in the morning ! And we only got to sleep at like 12 midnight. Much tougher than PLKN XD Then we had to do morning exercise. I'm sure everyone was shocked when they heard the urusetia had to exercise too XD After that, it was time for breakfast then latihan lasak (Teacher actually mispronounced it as LAKSA !) Since we only had 2 male urusetia, I was almost left alone without a station so I went with Ai San to go teacher hunting (asking for their signature/kehadiran). We ran alllll around the school like ROUNDS ROUNDS AND ROUNDS. (well at least I didn't have to carry umbrellas and chairs for teachers =P) After morning tea was Treasure Hunt, I asked the teacher to let me slide from this one 'cuz my rashes were acting UP UP UP ! again D= So I stayed with Michelle to clean up the canteen (The teacher for kebersihan was really unhappy with the dirty kantin) and take a quick shower (<3 Urusetia Privilages). Then I was BORED so I went to help Siaw at her station since she was alone (she was in the kantin so it was convenient). The students had to find a piece of color paper corresponding to their team color somewhere around the kantin but first they have to pass a test given by Siaw. She chose to make them do the Chicken Dance. OMG Brings back memories from camp T.T

After wasting a whole morning (YES ! It was JUST a morning....), Cikgu Zahirah told me go get the rope (from one of the obstacle course) for the Sukaneka later on (which means TUG O WAR, kids). DOOR WAS LOCKED =.= So me, Tiong and Gooi (PA students) had to jump across the fence to get the rope which was tied TIGHT to a pole. Thank goodness Gooi could push the rope out but I somehow hurt myself. A tiny wooden splinter pierced my poor palm when I was holding a stick to hike up the hill to get the rope. Audrey had to bring me to the IT office where she and Teacher Claire proceeded to remove the splinter BY MEANS OF INFLICTING MOAR PAIN D= Claire was like "Oh this is so fun. I get to have fun while inflicting pain onto someone else" Or something like that. Well, I just kept my eyes closed. I'm a very cautious person, so I prepared myself for a worse case scenario. Wouldn't want some sudden pain to trigger and my involuntary muscles make me go out of control and something even worse happen. Like.... BEING STABBED BY FORCEPS ! Then me and Aud had a little solo tug o war game, who would win ? We both had handicaps (my cacat palm and her swollen toe, from wearing her shoes for too long). Yay I WON =D (i think ? 0.0 )

Nothing much happened after that. I'd rather SKIP the actual Tug O War part because, well, I might actually be sued and expelled if I wrote it out for the whole world to see. And by night time, I was already sleepy and dead. Seriously, I'm really curious how the students could keep themselves so full of energy (they were practically doing exercise and running around the school the whole day) while WE (the urusetia) are almost dead. Maybe (VERY LIKELY) it's because they were always busy with the programs while we weren't so occupied (our schedule was quite flexible). I mean I'd definitely fall asleep if you just ask to sit down and watch some students talking and walking around for 2 hours. Anyways, they were having their Malam Kebudayaan (Tema ? Surprise surprise, 1 Malaysia....WHY am i not surprise ?) where every Unit Beruniform had to perform and they only had 2 hours or so to prepare. Obviously, I wasn't gonna sit there and watch them do it for 2 whole hours (and then wasting another hour watching them perform it out). Naturally I fell asleep....in the most awkward way possible. Everyone (half of the urusetia body) was upstairs (in the dewan) sleeping in secret (although it was sibeh obvious =.=) but I couldn't take the HEAT (much hotter then my tent even during day time) so I went back down and slept on a couple of chairs. Yes I was doing a free show for everyone to see my adorable sleeping face =3 All the teachers saw me too. Cikgu Neoh even made fun of me T.T (sarcastically) Thank God Audrey was next to me to wake me up when it was time to go back to prepare for supper. Or I would've been stuck there all night XD

Sunday
Didn't wanna wake up because my energy levels were TOO low ! But it was good to know that Sunday was the last day and I could finally go home in the afternoon. There was a Breakfast Preparing Contest in the morning and the food everyone had to make was Sardine Sandwich. Every urusetia was SELF-assigned to a badan beruniform. Me (WAS BEING SARCASTIC WTF) and Siaw rushed towards BSMM and that TICKED Aud off D= Then she went to help Pandu Puteri and I was all sad and stuff and she was like "Shut Up" and "Whatever" AND (*&(&%_)^^%_&^*&OT&TPY*&E*^&^)($^*HU%%%_&^$%^*&F*&$@^)*YP)*(*(*+8

FINAL MISSION: Take care of Albright ! I lost...oh but I manage to make him cry... I'm evil and I know it =( Well at least Aud was there so remedy the situation.....SLIGHTLY....the enemy kept targeting me D= Oh well, can't blame him for being so damn popular ;-) I had to babysit him for almost 2 hours. He even told me to bring him to the toilet and help him take his pants off (Those troublesome buttons gave me problems too when I was little). SO I DID IT......like a BOSS ! Lotsa stuff happened but I was SUPER GLAD that it was all over (poor students had a stand in marching formation for 3 hours+ ) Not so fast, whipper snappers ! We still had to serve LUNCH. Well at least most of the camp already went home so there were PLENTY of extras for US =D And it's CURRY CHICKEN <3 (Finally something EDIBLE !) Bro came to pick me up and we went home together happily ever after !

CONCLUSION ?

'nuff said =D

Monday
Aud and Siaw came over to my place to "do homework" KONON. Hah, as if that'll ever happen. Siaw brought her nail polish set (no, I'm not interested) so YEAH, we were never planning on doing our homework in the first place... I mean are you kidding me ? We just spent 3 days living in school and you want us to start our homework already (FYI, my poor blanket STILL smells like my tent). We ordered McD delivery for lunch and then everything became a blur (well, for me at least) Only Aud knew what happen =P Hah good luck making her tell YOU !

Tuesday
Today was ShnWei's (i keep forgetting to link you XD) turn to come to my place. Well she actually came to practice our duet for Music Fes which is like THIS FRIGGIN' SATURDAY (she thought it was Fri) and we're still making mistakes at least twice per playthrough. HELP ME T.T We're gonna lose again. No, I'm not blaming you, I made msitakes too, kay ? And apparently I've developed piano-phobia because of non-stop piano-ing from 12 till 5 playing THE SAME ******* SONG AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN. Why couldn't we play something "funner" like Stupid Liar duet or something.

Wednesday
Happy Kaamatan ! I didn't know today was a public holiday until my mom told me this morning. ShnWei was suppose to come over everyday to practice but she said she'd like to be excused since it's a public holiday. Went to Popular at CityMall to do some FINAL back-to-school shopping (this is like the THIRD time). THIS TIMEEEEE I had to get notebooks for notes. I wanted to get some files too but I reminded myself not to waste money and just use those old ones from SPM since MOST of our teachers never gave us any specifications for our files except PA. Then I went to see the Pre-U Ref Book Section.

Maths T and Chemistry New Modular System Reference Books. Sadly (?) It's not Longman, it's Pelangi. Each priced around RM30.

Contents for Maths T

Physics Matriculation Ref Book. By Zainal Abidin. Priced around RM40 !

I also bought a stack of Examination Sheet for my PA assignment since using the school's Kertas Kajang wouldn't look good when you put it into the PA file. I also got 5 Notebooks for notes in class. I got the cheapest one which costed RM1.60 each. 0.20 cheaper than the general ones.

I was like standing there at the Ref Book section for almost 30 min ++ while looking at the books, taking photos and sms-ing Aud 'cuz I couldn't decide whether to buy the book or not. I was VERY unsure about the book's content and quality and whether I'd be wasting my money now when a better book would be published tomorrow. The words "New Modular System" sounded fishy and I didn't really trust it thanks to Cikgu Bestah =.= So I placed them all back NICELY and proceeded to the counter to pay. Then I saw they had a bunch of ref books on the display shelf behind the counter just like the Chem and Maths T one, THEY HAVE PHYSICS ! I doubted a little but bought it in the end 'cuz mom was nagging me with "it's not about the money money money. it's about your studies studies studies" for the past hour. Honestly, Physics students (were suppose to buy their old ref books) are harder to find since the Science Stream class already got split in half. But Chemistry was compulsory so it was easier to hunt for those books down.

As a matter of fact, Abby told me Melia was selling her old ref books and I JUST HAD TO GRAB HER PHYSICAL CHEM BOOK. It was priced at RM5 SUPAH CHEAP NEDITNOW ! And Teacher Kong said she already pre-ordered Math T books for us (not sure if it's the Pelangi one) so I didn't buy that one too.

Additional notes handwritten with love <3

After that, we went to Tony Moly for their grand opening. Abby was working there part time for 2 days. Mom actually bought SOMETHING ! Eyeliner (i think) and some anti-aging moisturizer cream thingy. And my bro had his nails polished. Different color on different fingers. Ugh what is wrong with NAIL POLISH nowadays !!! Almost got my pinky polished, thank goodness I snapped out of it in time XD

And that's how my week pretty much went ! Here's some other stuff I bought over the past few weeks from Popular. I felt that I had to show them off since I've been to that place for like 3 TIMES !

The pencil case that me, Abby and Siaw found that day. The design was nice and it was cheap. Only RM8 or 9 ! The keychain was given to me by Wei Hwa from Kem. He bought it at Port Dickson when the kem brought those who didn't go home for CNY to Port D to have some fun. Thanks Wei Hwa <3

This notebook was NOT cheap. It costed around RM6 but at least the cover and design was nice. And it's already wrapped so it won't get dirty or torn THAT easily. I only write IMPORTANT stuff in here because well...it's EXPENSIVE. Treasure those important to you =D

I <3 GREEN (and Blue). I just felt a little kiddy and HAD to get an additional color. Blue and Black all day is so boring and I thought I could spice up a little of my notes with an extra green pen around. THIS BABY is VERY expensive. Almost RM3 just for one pen. ShnWei said she got addicted before with the pens and got a huge bunch of 'em for RM40.

On a side note, I'm not sure how many of you know about this, but I lost my 4GB pendrive near the end of the year last year (you all know I love collecting data and intel) so now I'm stuck with a 5 year old 1GB pendrive.......UNTIL LAST NIGHT. I <3 YOU MOM ! Yay, now I got a super slick, super tiny, super easy-to-lose 16 GB Kingston Pendrive (my mom calls it Thumbdrive) I will take "good good" care of this =3

Special Request by Aud ! (special thanks to my awesome bro for modelling !)

I hope this will suffice. Well it's Thursday morning 3.16am. Time to go to bed or else no one's gonna open the gate for ShnWei tomorrow morning XD Good nite peeps =D Oh and before I forget. Special Shout out to my Penguin Keychain Friend !
